SHAKIRA - 11 year old Thoroughbred mare. Don't let the innocent look on her face fool you! She's a sweetheart only 97% of the time. Shakira and I have lots of fun on the state trail which we can access about a mile from our house. She came to be with me in January 2004, and only 6 weeks later she had emergency surgery at the University of Minnesota. She's doing great now though, and the experience created a strong bond between us.

JAVA - 1 year old DSH cat. He may be the smallest critter on the farm, but he's got the biggest ego! He thinks he rules the place. He didn't want to wake up for his picture - and what Java wants, Java gets!
